Luckily, and finally, we are continuing to do what we are supposed to do.
Sixers (24-46, .343) will face the Magic in few hours, after the 84-98 home loss to Chicago timely snapped a 10 game losing streak for the Bulls, as expected.
Few notes between the two games, to help us understanding what's going on in Sixerland in this key moment of the season.
THREE ANSWERS
1) No, we basically never showed up for the game last night. The second quarter was opened by a 15-4 Chicago run, Sixers never got closer than 12 points in the second half and trailed by as many as twenty points.
2) Yes, Sam Dalembert (great game, btw) was the go-to-guy, and this should tell you everything you need to know.
3) Yes, I wrote a lot of things to support Elton Brand this year, but his play lately has been so annoying that I almost regret it. Seventeen painful minutes for who looks to be a former player, not even a former all star. Sad, really (more after the jump)THREE QUESTIONS
1) What's happening to Iguodala? Check his numbers in March: 39% from the floor (68/174), 11% from behind the arc (4/34), 65% from the line (45/72). Apparently he's playing despite plantar fascitis, and I wonder if the (too many) minutes Jordan gave him didn't help making this problem bigger...
I just hope that at least we won't see him shooting technicals anymore, that has always bothered me.
2) How long can this losing streak last? I think we have a chance to extend it significantly: Orlando, @Milwaukee, Atlanta, Oklahoma City, @Charlotte, Toronto. All teams playing for a goal: it could easily be six losses in the next six, especially with Thad & Lou out and Iguodala hampered by injury.
I won't complain, in case...
3) How horrible is Jodie Meeks? I understand all: it's garbage time, you want to show something, you think you are a good shooter (being "think" the key word)... but dude, you are embarassing yourself out there. Meeks makes World B. Free look like John Stockton.
REASONS
Why we lost the game
Because Bulls were spirited enough and Rose knocked down four threes (after hitting six all season...).
To be optimistic
Jrue Holiday's career first double double is the best news of the night. His ten rebounds are a career high, also.
In Brand's absence, it was nice to see also Marreese Speights getting some action: his double double is the third of the season and first since December 18 at Boston.
Sixers have lost ten of the last eleven games against Orlando, and six straight.
To be worried
The only risk right now would be aggravating Iguodala's injury, I hope they give him some rest. Trying to win games at this point of the season is dumb, but putting a player's health in jeopardy would be dumber.
