d362aa673e9ab69cb8ade6ea8e331d85-getty-90044382dd003_pistons_sixersThe 103-124 loss to the Pistons was nothing shy of perfect.

Given the remaining schedule, Sixers, now at 26-51 (.338), are in a great position to maintain the 7th worst record in the NBA, and perhaps "improve" to 6th.

It seems very unlikely now that we can rise in the standings, especially in the eastern conference.

Indiana plays host to NY tonight, I'm rooting for the Knicks to repeat their (great) win of last night against the Celtics.

That would give BOTH teams a 3 win-advantage over us, a lead that would be virtually impossible to overcome with only five games left to play.

Who knows, maybe Detroit will reach us at 26 W (still a T'Wolves game left, by the way), or even Washington (@NY and vs Indiana in the last two...).

There is still hope !

THREE ANSWERS

1) Yes, it was BEN Wallace, not Rasheed. 18 points on 8/10 after three quarters, a season high...

2) Yes, they were the same Pistons that were averaging an NBA worst 93 PPG before the game started. They reached 100 with more than 10 minutes left to play. Not exactly your typical Sixers-Pistons game.

3) Yes, it worked perfectly, dear Elton Brand.

Brand admitted Jordan's words bothered him. "Personally, I just think it might have been premeditated already," Brand said. "He knew he was going to sub and play some other guys. And it didn't work. We lost by 20"

Let me guess, you wanted to win the game? (more after the jump)

THREE QUESTIONS

1) Is Meeks (in the pic) an NBA player? I still think he's D-League material, but he put together some nice plays, hitting his first five shots, for twelve first half points. In 48 minutes of garbage time, let's make this 100% clear.

2) Did you see what happens with Dalambert playing few minutes? Outrebounded by the Pistons 26-33 in a game where they shoot 63%, vs our 53%...

3) What's with Kapono missing wide open threes, but scoring on TWO layups (!!) and dishing out s-i-x assists ??? I told you, it wasn't your usual NBA game.

REASONS

Why we lost the game

Because for one night we were smarter than them.

"Loved" our defense (Pistons' 63% is a another season high) and the rotations, also.

To be optimistic

Our schedule looks extremely favorable now, we might lose the next five without any particular effort, starting from tonight's game at Miami, that is coming off eight straight wins.

Thad is out for the season. while Lou Williams, playing his second game after the injury, is limited to a back up-of the-back up role.

To be worried

Nothing this time. Maybe the other teams that had a couple of wins in the last games will realize how dumb that was and stop immediately.
