The 104-102 loss at Dallas was the first Sixers game I missed this season.
It was blackouted in Italy for Int'l League Pass subscribers, there was nothing I could do.
So I'll make this post real quick, before all the Iverson talk, basing it on the few sure facts that I checked: stats, play-by-play page, highlights.
Feel free to correct me, or express your opinion, if you watched the game.
THREE ANSWERS
1) Yes, it looks like we dominated the boards ! A really impressive 60-37 edge, especially on the road.
2) No, I have no idea how Kidd can be so good at 36 y/o. I'll give the elder veteran an arousing standing ovation, he's one of my favorite players. But 5/8 from three point for a below average outside shooter can be possible only with the Sixers.
3) No, still no perimeter defense. Spurs 10/18, Dallas 10/21. We really need Iverson to fix this (LOL).
THREE QUESTIONS
1) Can someone explain me why Elton Brand got only 25 minutes? Ok, it was his first game after a break but his stat line tells he was doing very well... so ???
2) Are Green's EIGHT rebounds a typo ??? I couldn't believe my eyes. Not a carerer high, though, he grabbed 9 once, vs Pacers last year.
3) Was Iguodala's last second shot going in? To me, no. Anyway Sam cleared it, just to make sure that, in case...
REASONS
Why we lost the game
Jason Terry's last shot was a tough one. I think Green played good defense on him on that possession, Terry hit a fallaway jumper from the corner. 30-12 Dallas: points off threes.
To be worried
7th straight loss. Jason Smith and Carney in a funk. Couln't take advantage of a pretty unbelievable dominance of glasses, it won't happen often to outrebound our opponent by 23 boards.
To be optimistic
Brand's return was excellent, I'm happy for him. We continue to stay in the game even with (way) better teams, this is remarkable, I have to be honest. Comeback was sure exciting.
Next one is tomorrow in Oklahoma City (9-8), to me one of the biggest surprises in this start of the NBA season. I am curious to watch these guys and especially my boy Nenad Krstic.
Now back to Iverson...
